Reading Queue – September 2015

Reading Queue is a monthly recap and TBR meme hosted by the lovely ladies at Books: A True Story and BookTasty. Pretty simple – make plans for reading in the coming month and recap the reads from the… previous month. I’m also going to add links to the reviews I posted in the previous month for your viewing pleasure. : )

August 2015 Wrap Up

  • The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
  • The House of Shattered Wings by Aliette de Bodard – not yet finished

August for me is/was the month of comebacks. I am determined to get back on this reading train. If I do nothing else for the rest of this year, I want to complete my reading challenge. I’ve finished 14 of 25 books this year and I want to smash that goal. When I’m sick, I don’t want to craft and I think that’s really what helped me this month. Funny, as humans, we don’t credit much to being ill. But I’ll take it.

September 2015 TBR

Unsurprisingly, I’m setting an ambitious TBR for September 2015. It’s especially so because FOOTBALL season. (I’m crazy excited for football!) I’m also kicking my wedding planning into high gear AND I’m changing jobs (hallelujah). But I think I can manage this. I’ve charted it all out (Discussions and Confession post on that later) and I think I can do this!

  • The House of Shattered Wings by Aliette de Bodard – finish, for review
  • Embers by Karen Ann Hopkins – for review
  • Gaia by Karen Ann Hopkins – for review, check back on September 15 for guest post from the author and a crazy cool giveaway!
  • The Martian by Andy Weir – TBR Book Club pick for September/October
  • The Shadow Behind the Stars by Rebecca Hahn – for review
  • Uprooted by Naomi Novik
  • The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski

As I said, ambitious. But it’s all fantasy and more than that, it’s a pile of books I really want to read. So that’s only going to spur me on. I have a backlog of eARCs to read if by some miracle I plow through this pile. But we’ll talk about that another time. : )

Of all the books listed in my September 2015 TBR, which one do you recommend the most? Any that you’ve read that you devoured? Any on my list you wish to read, too? Let’s chat!
